Following a fair amount of enquiries regarding tickets, we have decided to sell tickets in advance for this match, as follows:

Gate admission on the day will be as per league prices:
Adult  £10
Concession £6
Child £3

Tickets bought in advance will be available at slightly reduced prices:
Adult £9
Concession £5
Child £2

Tickets will go on sale in the Clubhouse between 12 - 2pm on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June.
They will then be available on following weekends at the same times 12 - 2pm Saturday & Sunday, and from Tuesday 30th June will also be available from the office, Tuesday to Friday between 10am - 12.
As always, it may be wise to ring before making a special journey to the office, to make sure someone is available.

Please note that all advance ticket sales must be in person between the times stated. We do not have the facility to take telephone, postal or email bookings.

Thank you.

Dave,

Is there any further news of a ticket package for all the pre-season games?

I don't think this is going to happen now, Steve.

With enquiries coming in for tickets for the Portsmouth game, it was felt that we had to move quickly to get a price in place for this one. The idea was also agreed over the weekend to do advance ticket sales, while interest is high, and in the hope of avoiding congestion at the gates on the day.

There is also the complication that the plan is still to ask Reading to come pre-season as a Testimonial Match for Jason, as the first event in his Testimonial year, and which would be seperated from any package deal. ( Hope for news very soon on this one ).

I'm sure it will be discussed again at the Board Meeting this week, which is before tickets go on sale, so if there is any change, we'll let you know.

Ticket sales started this lunchtime, with a fair amount of interest already.
12-2 again in the clubhouse tomorrow

just a quick question about pricing

last year season ticket holders got in free and now they are being asked to pay full price along with any normal fan that turns up on the day because it is pompy or another league team.

surely the price should be somewhere in the middle as this may encourage ppl to get a season ticket if they are going to get reduced prices for pre season games.

Hi James,

When we looked at the issue of pricing for this season, our main aim was to a/ make the whole pricing structure simpler to administer, and  b/ make the season ticket good value for everyone, in the hope of encouraging people to take them up. Also, those that were season ticket holders last season have been offered a discounted renewal price in recognition of the changes to admission prices last season. We do not intend to have any more than 1, possibly 2 discounted games this season, which I think was discussed in an earlier thread, so even with this the season ticket remains good value.

We did not feel that the inclusion of pre-season friendlies had much impact on season ticket sales, which, for adult/concessions, has remained fairly static. We had always intended to keep them separate this season and it is not as a result of having Portsmouth as visitors this summer.

As much as we would like to give more to our regular supporters, the Club is just not at the moment in a position to do so. We hope that this season will see some results for the off field work that has been going on in the department of commercial and sponsorship, but feel that we must keep a tight rein on all things financial in order that we continue on the right path.

The pricing does seem more appealing to the average joe if it looks cheaper

Don't forget, advance tickets will be on sale in the clubhouse again from 12-2 on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
We're getting quite a few enquiries from pompey fans - it could be quite busy in there!

also, a reminder:
From Tuesday 30th June they will also be available from the office, Tuesday to Friday between 10am - 12.

Sales are now going well on this game with over £200.00 worth sold on Sunday alone this weekend. See above for details of availability from the office during the coming week and they will be on sale again in the clubhouse on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 12.00 to 2.00 p.m.

Hi David/Julie,

What day/time is the office open at the weekend? When would be best to come in? I'll be looking to buy a number of tickets for the Pompey game and also possibly 2 season tickets.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,

Unfortunately Ian will not be in the office this weekend, but......

Tickets for the Portsmouth game will be on sale in the clubhouse between 12 and 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday, and we would be able to take in the completed season ticket forms and money during those times too. Dick will then do the season tickets on Tuesday, which could be posted to you, or you could collect them from the office or behind the bar during the week.

(Just as a footnote here: access is a bit restricted at the moment, with the Circus blocking most of the top car park, so the way in to the office at the moment is through the entrance on the Winchester Road. Clubhouse and main car park access as usual, and Corals car park can be reached past the end of the clubhouse, and is signposted.)

Hope this helps,
Julie

As usual, thanks for the quick reply Julie.

I'll pop into the clubhouse just after 12 tomorrow. For some reason I think I'm buying quite a few tickets for this game :-)

No problem about the season ticket and to be honest there is no rush to get the 2 tickets. I'll bring my cheque book for the ST and pay cash for the Pompey tickets...

Do I need to ask for anyone specific in the clubhouse? Would the person also be able to take the application and money for a renewal of my SC membership or do I need to post this?

Hi Adam,

It will be Brian or Sarah Parsons selling the tickets for the Portsmouth Game in the Clubhouse this weekend, I'm sure they will be able to sell you all the tickets you need!  Cheesy

They will be able to take your Season Ticket forms and cheque as well, and Dick will get those to you later.

I successfully purchased the tickets - 6 Adults, 3 Children and 1 concession. Also 2 season ticket application and my SC renewal.

Now all I have to do is wait for the football to start!!

Glad to hear you were successful, Adam  Cool

The football is creeping up on me a bit quick - so much to get done before it starts!
Once the close season finishes I shall need another holiday!  Grin
