Basingstoke Town Football Club Supporters Club Forum - Terms & Conditions

The following code of conduct is not exhaustive or exclusive, but an attempt to provide guidelines for posting messages to this forum. Most people will find it unnecessary to refer to them, but for those who do need reminding, we list them as clearly as possible. Please remember that moderators have busy lives and that they give their time freely to make the forum a better place for all, they’re not here to be hassled but welcome problems that some users may encounter. We much prefer that you moderate your own output but we will not hesitate to moderate it for you if required. All threads and posts can be removed, modified, merged and split at the discretion of the moderators. The current moderators are "James", "JaMiller" and "Smallzie".

We ask that you respect the fact that this is an all-ages board, and consider your posts and the language you use. The following includes on the forum itself and in personal messages. If you’d like to report a PM (Personal Message) that another member has sent you, send a PM to a moderator letting them know, or click ‘Report to Admin’ at the bottom right of every personal message.

Personal abuse of other forum members is not permitted. If you disagree with what someone else says, say so and use whatever arguments you like to support your views. Personal attacks only suggest that you cannot support your views in any other way. If you feel you are attacked by someone, please report this to the moderator by either sending one of them a personal message or by clicking ‘Report to Moderator’ (at the bottom right of every post). Do not revenge like with like.

Pornographic, racist, homophobic, threatening, harassing or obscene messages and/or images are not permitted and will be deleted. Bigotry has no place on the forum.

The laws of libel in the UK are very harsh. You are liable for what you post. Please do not expose the forum to legal risk.

Please also remember that the Club, under Football Conference Rules, is ultimately responsible for the content of it's website. The forum, although part of the Supporters Club and therefore not run by the Club, is linked to the Club website and does fall under the umbrella of that Club responsibility. We deem this to mean that nothing can be included on the website/forum that could in the opinion of the Football Association or Football Conference bring these organisations or the Club into disrepute.

Do not post material that infringes on any intellectual property rights (e.g. copyright, trademark, patent or other proprietary rights). Advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are not permitted.

Multiple registrations are not allowed. You must use the same user name whenever you post a message. You must have a valid, working email address in your profile at all times. Posts submitted under multiple registrations will be removed and the account may also be removed, possibly without prior warning.

Content of posts that have been deleted must not be re-submitted. Links to, or instructions for finding, the content of posts deleted from this forum, or sites containing such material which has been deemed not suitable for this forum, will be deemed to be content within this site, and contained within the conditions of it, even if the material itself is no longer so contained. These links will also be deleted.

"Trolling" (i.e. posting in order to deliberately get a reaction or by posting false rumours etc.) is not permitted.

Infringements of this Code of Conduct may result in your posting rights being suspended or withdrawn. Please appreciate that not everything a member could do that would be considered inappropriate for the forum is listed above. Sometimes, members find new and innovative ways to cause problems, and these will be dealt with by the moderators and the Committee as they occur.

Please use common courtesy by not ‘shouting’ (putting messages in block capitals) or use confusing ‘text speak’ that some forum users may not understand.

Please try not to start duplicate threads - do a search before you post, it may be that your thread will merged with another by a moderator to avoid redundancy of perfectly active threads.

Please try to stay "on topic". Each thread is begun for the purpose of discussing its own subject matter. Ideally, each will be named according to its subject matter. Please try to reply to the topic at hand. If you find yourself going off on a tangent, feel free to start another (appropriately-named) thread. If a thread goes too far off course, it may be locked by a moderator or split into separate threads.

We operate this forum using the ‘yellow card’ procedure. If a moderator deems a thread, post or PM as a disregard of the rules then they will not hesitate to ‘yellow card’ the member in question. Upon receiving 2 yellow cards, the member will receive a ‘red card’ and have their account completely suspended and posting rights withdrawn. In some cases a straight red may be given. Yellow cards, red cards and warnings will be given at the moderator’s discretion and can be appealed against at the next Supporters Club meeting.

We reserve the right to adapt or amend the terms and conditions as  and when we see fit. All members will be notified if this occurs.

The Supporters Club would like everyone who wishes to take part in forum discussion to be able to do so, and that their opinion will be respected. Please treat others with the respect with which you would like them to treat you.

Thankyou.
